Interstate 45 (I-45) is the backbone of the Texas Triangle, connecting two of the country’s largest economic and logistics hubs across roughly 240 miles. Over 9,000 freight trucks travel between Houston and Dallas every day, a number expected to more than double by 2050.

The corridor faces severe congestion, with five I-45 interchanges ranking among the nation’s 100 worst truck bottlenecks, including three in the top 25. I-45 has also been ranked among the most dangerous highways in the country.
